Project
1.3 Inter-Networking
The project studies the interworking
between various core network and between various core networks
and various access networks to support new services and applications
in the EII. The networks to be considered are the ones which have
been selected by SRC6 to be the most important ones in the future
EII:
- Core networks: PSTN/N-ISDN, digital
mobile network, B-ISDN, public switched packet data networks
(i.e. X.25), MAN/LAN;
- Access networks: narrowband access
network (including those operated with ADSL, HDSL, and radio),
terrestrial and satellite broadcasts networks, CATV networks,
broadband access networks (including FFTC, FFTH, HFC and radio),
digital mobile access, VSAT networks.
